How to install a Teardown mod – step-by-step instructions for all versions of the game
How to Install Mods in Teardown
Do you want to add new maps, weapons, or vehicles to Teardown? You can make the game more interesting with mods. There are two ways to install them: through Steam Workshop or manually. Below is a detailed guide for both methods.
Installing Mods via Steam Workshop (the Easiest Way)
This method is suitable if you have the licensed version of Teardown on Steam. Everything happens automatically — you do not need to copy files or search for folders.
Step by step:
- Open Steam and go to the Teardown game page.
- Open the Workshop tab.
- Find the mod you want — a map, weapon, vehicle, and so on.
- Click Subscribe.
- Steam will download and install the mod automatically.
- Launch the game, open the Mods menu, and enable the mod you need.
After activation, the mod will appear in the game immediately. If the mod does not show up, restart the game — this fixes the problem in most cases.
How to remove a Steam Workshop mod:
- Open the Workshop tab.
- Find the mod you are subscribed to.
- Click Unsubscribe.
- The mod will be removed the next time you start the game.
Manual Mod Installation (Not from Steam Workshop)
If you downloaded a mod from another website, e.g. Goodmods.info — Teardown mods, you need to install it manually. This method also works for the free version of Teardown.
How to install:
- Download the mod archive (.zip or .rar).
- Extract the archive — inside there should be a folder with the mod name.
- Find the folder where Teardown is installed. Usually it looks like this:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Teardown
- or
- C:\Games\Teardown
If you do not know where the folder is, right-click the game shortcut on your desktop and choose Open file location.
- In the Teardown root folder, find the Mods folder.
- If it does not exist, create it manually.
- Copy the mod folder into the Mods folder.
- Launch the game and open Mods in the main menu.
- Find your mod and enable it.
After that, the mod will appear in the list and work correctly.
If the mod does not appear:
- Make sure the folder structure is correct. Inside the Mods folder, there should be a folder with the mod files, not another archive.
- Restart the game.
- Some old mods require copying the Data folder with file replacement — do this only if the mod author says so in the instructions.
How to remove a manually installed mod:
- Simply delete its folder from Teardown/Mods/
Summary
- Steam Workshop is the best option for the licensed version — one-click installation.
- Manual installation is suitable for mods from other websites and non-Steam versions.
- After installation, always enable the mod in the Mods menu.
- If the mod does not appear, check the paths and folder structure.
These methods work for all types of mods — maps, weapons, vehicles, and scenarios.
